Sjoerd van der Knokke is a nature photographer and general practitioner.
In remote landscapes, far from noise and haste, he creates images in which silence, space, and mindfulness become tangible. His work is born from patience, observation, and the tranquility to truly look.
His fine art nature photography shows how powerful simplicity can be. A line in the ice, the rhythm of a landscape, an animal merging into the void. Images that do not reveal everything at a single glance, but invite you to linger.
This way of looking has been shaped by two worlds that converge in his work. As a doctor, Sjoerd learned to observe carefully and to have an eye for nuance and subtle shifts. As a photographer, he brings that same attentiveness into nature. You can see this reflected in his images from the polar regions, as well as in the stories and journeys behind them.
